Wegeler Mosel estate Vintage 2021
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Slate Trocken 2021
This successfully transports the floral delicacy of the Mosel into an elegant dry wine with good freshness and balance. Effusive nose of white peaches and white flowers. Racy and – yes! – slatey on the sleek but well-structured palate. Long, super-clean finish. The first vintage of this cuvee of wines from Bernkastel, Kues and Kesten. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Bernkastel Trocken 2021
Effusive nose of crisp pear with delicate notes of parsley and dill. Mouth-filling, in spite of just 11.5% alcohol, the elegant acidity guiding you through the long, slatey finish. A cuvee of wines from the Badstube sites, with a large component from the Graben. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Graach Feinherb 2021
A juicy and finely nuanced Mosel riesling that’s barely off-dry and will strike many as dry enough. Long finish with complex, earthy character and stacks of mirabelle fruit. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Bernkastel Kabinett 2021
A succulent and vibrant Mosel Kabinett with excellent energy and enough juicy fruit to carry the firm and mineral acidity that builds the core of this wine. Lovely mint and parsley freshness on the nose. Invigorating freshness at the long finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Badstube Kabinett 2021
A spot-on Mosel Kabinett with wonderful energy and brilliance. Super balance of fruit and elegant acidity on the very focused palate. The nose opens very steadily in the glass, with a tremendous spectrum of aromas, ranging from moss to crisp pear. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Lay Kabinett 2021
A prototypical Mosel Kabinett with a degree of raciness and finesse that’s no longer common in this category, due to climate change. Wonderful, juicy fruit on the mid palate, then the cool, slatey side of the wine grows and grows as it flows over your palate and off into the distance. The first vintage of this wine. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Doctor Kabinett 2021
Very youthful, with flint, white-peach and a wide spectrum of fresh garden-herb aromas, this Mosel Kabinett is sleek, super-focused and very stony. Stunningly elegant finish that suggests this has decades ahead of it. The first vintage of this wine since 2001. Drink or hold.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Sonnenuhr Spätlese 2021
A cool and refined Spatlese, this is just beginning to open up, but already has a very elegant balance on the ripe and filigree palate. Then comes the super-long, slatey finish that takes your breath away! And yes, there’s some unfermented grape sweetness in there, but its beautifully integrated. Drink or hold.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Doctor Spätlese 2021
A super-focused Mosel Spatlese with enormous wet-stone minerality, this has been made for the long term. Still very tight and structured, this needs some years of bottle maturation to reveal all its treasures. Very crystalline finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Paulinshofberg Spätlese 2021
What a refined and elegant Spatlese this is, with stunning aromas of dripping leaves and flowers after a summer storm. Succulent and finely etched on the very precise palate. Gigantic, slatey freshness at the very long finish. Drink or hold.
Wegeler Riesling Mosel Doctor Auslese 2021
A very noble Auslese with enormous concentration and brilliance that shows why this vineyard site has long enjoyed a special reputation. Gigantic wet-stone minerality and almost supernatural freshness that together absorb almost all the generous unfermented-grape sweetness of this Mosel masterpiece! Limited production. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.
