Winkel Hasensprung - VDP.GROSSE LAGE

© Thomas Günther / weinverkostungen.de

The appellation Hasensprung is a source of powerful and full-bodied Riesling wines. In addition to the typical spiciness and intensity of the wines, the Hasensprung-Riesling fascinates with a special fruity intensity. Because the vines are very old and very closely planted, our plot in the so called "Winkeler Berg" only produces a small amount of grapes, which makes the wines much more intense.

History: The name of this appellation refers to its fertile soil.

Size: 103 ha - Wegeler Estate 2,8 ha

Soil: Deep grounding loess as well as shallow gritt and loess-clay soil.

Orientation: South - Southeast, hillside situation

Vines: Riesling, planted between 1973 and 1989
