Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg - VDP.GROSSE LAGE
The "First Growth" from this vineyard site is very mineralic and closed-in in younger days. Only after a certain maturing time on the bottle this wine shows the typical aromas such as apricot and peach.
History: The name of the steepest vineyard site in the Rheingau originates from the Castle ("Schloss") Ehrenfels which was built around 1211.

Soil: Quarzite from the Taunus region with layers of slate, very stony
Orientation: South - Southwest, with a gradient up to 70%
Vines: Riesling, planted in 1975
