Harvest report Rheingau Estate 2000

 

Growing season : Vintage 2000 started with an early and warm spring. Due to may, which has been extremly warm, the vines came in florescence 3 weeks before the longtime average. In june, the persistant rainfall started and lasted, with short interruptions, until the end of the harvest. Based on the extreme humidity we had to select the rotten berrys before and during the harvest by hand to inhibit a further infection.

Must weight : 76° - 155° Oechsle

Acid value : 7,8 - 9,8 g/l

Harvest report : 6th of October until 10th of November 2000

The wines : beautifully dry and fruity wines
