In 2007 the Wegeler Estate gained one of the most exquisite red wine estates within the Rheingau region as an associated partner. The pinot noir wines of the KRONE Estate Assmannshausen belong to the very best red wines in Germany.
The previous main owner, Mr.Botho Jung, recorded Anja Wegeler-Drieseberg and Tom Drieseberg, as an apparent mark of a long-term friendship, in the management.
The Krone Cellar in Assmannshausen was built under the direction of Erwin Brück 150 years ago. Like a gallery, the cellar was excavated into the rock of the Assmannshäuser Frankenthal by hand.
Stretching out over 60 meters it is one of the most eminent stone cellars in Germany which is still in use. Providing an almost constant temperature and air humidity during the whole year it has the perfect environment for our Pinots to mature in our barrique barrels. Even after 150 years the winemaking takes place in our stone cellar in Assmannshausen. Some traditional methods stay modern in every era.
In terms of logistic and distribution the Wegeler Wineries cooperate with the Weingut Krone Estate Assmannshausen.
