Number two for our youngest Berg Rottland Spätlese
The international wine critic Jancis Robinson, who has just been honored by Prädikat Wine Estates for her exceptional dedication to the finest German wines, awarded our 2015 Rüdesheim Berg Rottland Spätlese 17,5 Points, the second highest score for natural sweet wines from the Rheingau.
"Still quite reserved on the nose, but with delightful notions of peach, nectarine and even some more exotic fruit. Lemon and honey is good for you, but sweet zesty orange and luscious honey is even better. The ample acidity of 2015 keeps the flavour lively and is perfected by a delicious citrus-peel finish."

Mosel Fine Wines tastet over 60 Sekt samples for its comprehensive Sekt Review „Lets Talk About Sekt″ and comments the 2004 Geheimrat »J« Brut, disgorged in January 2014 as follows:
"This is a cracker of a sparkling wine, with quite some bergamot, spices and quince all delivered with a most delicate mousse and lively zest on the palate. The finish is clean and mouth-watering. What a stunning sparkling wine! This proves superb now but could even gain with some further bottle aging." 93P - MFW Nr 30 March 2016

Parker rates our Mosel Riesling
Our 2014 Bernkastel Doctor Riesling trocken GG could distinguish itself through its elegance, complexity and great aging potential. We are proud about the 92+ Points!
"The 2014 Bernkastel Doctor Riesling trocken GG offers a very clear and intense, coolish, finely aromatic and flinty bouquet. Elegant and round on the palate, this full-bodied and dense Riesling reveals a great intensity and complexity, and finishes with power, grip and concentration; it has a great aging potential. I suppose this wine will truly start showing its talents no earlier than 2021." - Stephan Reinhardt für erobertparker.com - März 2016
The same note was given to the 2014 Bernkasteler Doctor Riesling Spätlese. Our 2014 Wehlen Sonnenuhr Riesling trocken GG was ratet 91+ Points, our 2014 Bernkastel Lay Riesling feinherb and 2014 Graacher Riesling Feinherb were awarded 90+ and 90 Points respectively.

Robert Parker rates our Rheingauer GG
We are proud about the 92 Points for our 2014 Winkel Jesuitengarten Großes Gewächs. Robert Parker declared it as the "probably best wine from this vineyard" in 2014:
"From one of the warmest terroirs in the Rheingau the 2014 Riesling Winkel Jesuitengarten offers a clear, deep, rich, super ripe, spicy and elegant fruit on the nose. This leads to an elegant, full-bodied, rich and powerful wine with lots of finesse, freshness and vibrating minerals. The finish is long, complex, and stimulatingly pure and salty. This is probably the best Jesuitengarten of the vintage and Wegeler's most balanced Grosses Gewächs." Stephan Reinhardt 14.01.2016
Our 2014 Oestrich Rosengarten GG received 91 Points. The 2014 Geisenheim Rothenberg GG was ratet 90+ Points.
Part of Germany's Top 25
The famed and very influential website jancisrobinson.com awarded our 2014 Geisenheimer Rothenberg GG 18 Points, the second highest mark among all Riesling Grosses Gewächs or GG in the Rheingau. We have a reason to be proud : Our wine also made it into the small group of Germany's 25 best GGs!
Welcome at Wegeler Estates!
We are a family-run estate with a sense for our history and tradition. Since 4 generations now, we share the same passion for Riesling, which we cultivate to a 100% in our vineyards along the Rhine and the Mosel river banks.
Our credo is "quality is our philosophy" and that is the way we work today, just like 130 years ago, when our estate had been founded. We produce exclusively high-quality Riesling: with traditional, ecological wine-growing and mostly with manual work.
You can taste and buy our wines from Rhine and Mosel as well as the ones of our partner vinery KRONE Assmannhausen in our Rheingau Estate in Oestrich-Winkel.
Our tasting-room is open Monday – Friday between 08:00 h and 17:00 h, on Saturdays between 11:00 h and 16:00 h. Should you wish to visit us outside these opening hours, we are happy to make an individual arrangement.
We hope to welcome you soon !
